On Saturday 16th March we had 16 participants attend the Clarkson Foundation Inc.'s penultimate session of it's parent education and personal development programme.
They first were treated to an address by Ms. Keriann Hurley, a social worker and youth programme manager at the Barbados Family Planning Association.
Ms. Hurley spoke about health and wellness as it pertains to your sexuality and reproductive being.
She gave a wealth of information on issues relating to relationships, emotions, sexual behaviour and on the need to make wise choices.
Participants were then addressed by Miss. Roseann Richards, Child Care Board director, who came for the second time to speak on barriers to effective parenting and to best practices and strategies for effective parenting. She emphasised the necessity of proper communication with your children and of effective disciplining of your children.
We as usual thank Misses. Dianna Forde, Suasan Packer, Stacey Medford, Jayde Alleyne and Donna Turney for assisting in taking care of the children who came.
