Parent Education and Personal Development Programme - Session 7

The Clarkson Foundation Inc. held its seventh session in its parent education and personal development programme on Saturday 9th March, 2024 at Gordon Greenidge Primary School.

21 participants heard an informative and interactive session presented by Ms. Katrina Bend, marketing officer of the National Insurance and Social Security Office, on the importance of paying NIS contributions in order to receive its substantial benefits as well as the significance of paying these contributions in planning for your retirement years.

The second session was conducted by Mr. David Simpson, chartered accountant, Chairman of Fund Access and the Financial Literacy Bureau who addressed another interactive session on the need for us to be financially literate and to budget not only for our future but for that of our children.

He spoke of the need for participants to separate wants from needs, to consolidate their expenses, to always try to have funds set aside for an emergency, to stick to a basic budget plan and to be financially fit.
